Dissonance = Disconnect

We don’t just live a fast-paced life, but a life that is driven by results and deliverables. Our minds are always rushing from one task to another ensuring that we are always in the “Doing” mode and not paying attention to the “Being” nor who we want to be in our lives……How frequently do we pause and question ourselves, do all of what we do resonate with us and what we stand for,  what do we believe in, our purpose?

Let's take a step further, are we even aware of our purpose and how do we want to “Be” in the life we live?

If the answer is yes, then that is great, then all of this “Doing” and fast-paced life will eventually bring us fulfillment, but if the answer is No or not sure? Not only will we end up feeling disconnected but we will get trapped in a hamster wheel because no matter how hard we move, we are not reaching anywhere in our lives that fulfills us.

It is vital to identify our values, the light that guides us through this busy life, driven by all the “doing”. Values are inside all of us, it's not ideals to be worked on nor to be acquired.  They are expressed in our daily lives in ways that we normally don’t notice given how busy we are. When we live our lives without honouring these values is when dissonance shows up. The best way to identify these values is by experiencing or re-living them vs. just listing or analyzing them. The more we feel these values and connect to them the more we make decisions that resonate with us and evoke our journey to fulfillment. 

Working with a life coach presents us the chance to engage in exercises where we unearth our values and clarify what each value means to us.

The more we gain clarity on our values, the more it acts as a guidepost on our journey. 

Challenging decisions become clearer when we ask ourselves if such decisions are in line with values or not….

Our actions and long lists of “doing” translate into fulfilling moments because they were guided by what connects us……
